Jumping is when the signal jumps from the wire to a shed or to any other metal surface. This causes the boundary to move and change shapes which results in inconsistent containment and training.

When your boundary fails due to a jumped signal, your dog may escape and get itself in danger. If your dog gets corrected caused by stray signals or signals from the wrong areas of the property, your training will be inconsistent and render your boundary useless. Whats worse is that your dog could have Porch Sitting Syndrome because your dog wouldn't know which areas are safe and which are not.

The most common cause of Electrical Surges are from Lightning Strikes. If lightning were to strike around the area, it could get into the wire and hit the Transmitter. This would cause Lightning or Fusion Damage to your Transmitter. Our external surge-protection box (and the surge protected power transformer) will divert any excess energy away from the transmitter protecting it against fusion damage.

A damaged Transmitter can cost you around 50-70% the price of your original kit and you normally don't get a warranty on Electrically Damaged Transmitters. This is why it is very important that the Transformer is able to guard your transmitter against Electrical Surges.

The Transformer that comes in with our kits have 3 Pins which means there is an Earth wire that will protect your Transmitter from Electrical Surges.

As we discussed the transmitter is protected using both internal and external power surge protection unique to our Premium Dog Fence Kits and can be added as upgrade for the Standard Dog Fence Kits to be covered on Surge Protection Warranty. The receiver collar will only activate when it detects the SafeLink Coded digital FM radio signal emitted from the boundary wire. Your dog is safe and your transmitter is protected.
