How Does an Hidden Dog Fence Work?

A Hidden Dog Fence or Electric Dog Fence works with 4 major components (see the graph)

The Transmitter is the brain of your dog containment system - it sends the digitally coded FM radio signal to the boundary wire.

The Power Plug not only supplies power to the transmitter but also regulates it. This also protects the transmitter from power surges and prevents signal jump or fluctuation. Thanks to its green earthing-wire that directs any excess electric power to the ground.

The Boundary Wire acts as your invisible fence. Create a loop from your transmitter, set out your boundary, and connect the other end of the wire back to the transmitter.

Dog Fence wire Review

This is why it is also commonly called Hidden Fence since you can bury the wire in the ground and hide it from plain sight. People will wonder why your dog stops at a certain area in your property and don't go further despite of you having NO fences at all.

Also, remember that the Pet Barrier Hidden Dog Fence comes with a super strong wire with 7-strand copper core and is coated with High Density Polyethylene - this means you can just lay the wire on the ground or simply hang it on your traditional fence. It will NOT break down in the sun because it has a 20-year UV rating.

The Receiver Dog Fence Collar is worn by your dog. It is designed to only detect the uniquely coded with FM radio signal - it will not interact with signals from other electronics. This prevents false zaps.

It will only react to the signal from the wire which is sent by the transmitter - as your dog goes near the boundary wire, the collar will start beeping in the warning zone and will give a static correction to your dog (depending on the level you set it to) as he reaches the correction zone. This effectively deters your dog away from the boundary.

The zones distance can be adjusted as you please.

Now, please remember that all of the components are of equal importance - without the other, the whole system will not serve its purpose which is to contain your dog and keep him safe & secured inside your property.
