Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge Pets “Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you..I loved you so- ’twas Heaven here with you.”

Isla Paschal Richardson

Welcome to the Rainbow Bridge. Many people who have dogs consider them as a member of the family. This usually means we treat them as our babies and buy them all the things in the world that can make them happy and pampered during their life here on earth. We keep them safe, play with them, love them and most importantly, remember them when they pass away.

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”- Roger Caras

We've created this page to honour and remember the incredibly amazing and loving dogs in our community that have passed away. We’d like to give you the opportunity to share the stories of your dogs to the world and let other people know how much love our dogs brought to our lives in their short time with us here on earth.

Send us an email of your dog's life story and what happened to them as well as pictures or videos if you'd like us to create an honour page for them.

What is the Rainbow Bridge?

For those who haven’t heard of the Rainbow Bridge before, it’s a poem of a place where dogs and their owners are reunited after death and they cross the bridge together. The poem has circulated and has been attributed so many times around the world that the original author is now uncertain.

The Rainbow Bridge Story

The Rainbow Bridge GateJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal who has been especially close to someone dies, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

Animals who were ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them from days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one thing: they miss someone very special to them; the person they left behind.

All of the animals run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

If you’d like to share your dog’s life and what happened, Email Us and send us your dog's story and some pictures or even a video that you would like us to put on the page. As much as is it important to know what happened to your dog, we'd like to focus on the happy life that they spent with you so send us more of the happy thoughts.
