USER’S MANUAL

To acquire optimal results, the dog owner’s involvement is a MUST. Is it recommended for the owner to observe their dog during the first days of wearing the collar on until such time that it becomes comfortable with it? 

See to it the barking detection sensitivity/operating mode are adjusted correctly for the device to work properly.

Let the collar work without distraction. Your dog could interpret any distraction or meddling from as a sign of consideration and consequently barking would be an effective means to have your attention attracted.

However, if your dog shows cooperation and positive behavior, don’t forget to validate and reward your dog’s positive behavior by gentle strokes, verbally acknowledgment, or dry food. Thus, never forget to be sensitive.

Remember: Barking can indicate some behavioral problems. This bark limiter collar device will help you resolve problems caused by excessive barking.

If the problem persists even with the collar on, don’t hesitate to get professional advice or consultation from a trusted veterinarian.
 

ATTACHING THE BATTERY

1. Using the small screwdriver provided in the box, remove the 2 screws from the battery cover.
2. Pull off the battery cover.
3. Insert the 3 Volt CR 2450 Lithium battery as indicated under the battery holder (See diagram 2).
4. A sound beep is produced signifying that the battery has been properly inserted.
5. Immediately remove from the battery from the collar if you do not hear any beep sound after inserting it. Check the polarity before inserting the battery again. When you still don’t hear any beep sounds check the operation by switching the collar ON and Off.
6. Carefully replace the battery by inserting the small pin at the bottom (See diagram 3).
7. After closing the battery, you can now retighten the screws.
    

FITTING THE STRAP

1. Glide the strap alongside the case (See diagram 4).
2. Place the slide buckle supplied on the strap.
3. Attach the quick-snap buckle to the free edge of the strap.
    

SWITCHING THE COLLAR ON/OFF

ON: Put the magnetic key close to the orange mark placed in front of the collar. 1, 2 or 3 short sound beeps are produced (according to the chosen mode) and show(s) that the collar has been switched on.
In the factory, the collar’s mode is positioned on mode 2 (beep sounds then vocal messages).

OFF: Put the magnetic key close to the orange mark placed in front of the collar. One long beep sound shows that the collar has been switched off.
 

SWITCHING OPERATING MODES

• The collar’s mode is set on mode 2 (beep sounds then vocal messages) in the factory.
• To switch the collars mode, place the magnetic key in contact with the orange mark. A series of beep sounds will be produced showing the selected device mode. 
• Control the magnetic key to change to device mode and remove it when you’ve reached the mode you prefer. The collar will remember you previously selected mode the next time you use the collar. 
• Control the magnetic key to change to device mode and remove it when you’ve reached the mode you prefer. The collar will remember you previously selected mode the next time you use the collar.

(*): In mode 2 and 3 :

• If your dog continues to bark, after the 4th barking the collar begins again its operating cycle (beeps for the mode 2 and vibrations for the mode 3).
• If your dog stops barking for more than 15 seconds, the collar will also begin again its cycle at the beginning (beeps for the mode 2 and vibrations for the mode 3).

HOW TO RECORD AND REPLAY VOICE/VOCAL MESSAGES

ATTENTION: Your collar must be turned off to proceed to the recording or listening of the vocal messages.

You can record 2 vocal messages of 5 seconds each. We recommend you to use short words and employ a firm tone (without shouting).

Examples of messages: < no! > ; < stop! >; < silent! >

Read the instructions below to record or listen your messages:
- With the supplied screwdriver, pull off the 2 screws from the battery cover.
- Take out the battery cover.
- Press and hold the button (See Diagram 5 below) a series of beep sounds (from 1 to 4) will be produced by the collar showing the selected mode.
- Once you’re on your desired mode, let go of the button immediately when you have finished listening or recording your vocal messages.
- Replace the battery cover taking care to first insert the little pin at the bottom of the battery cover (See diagram 3).
- Finally, carefully retighten the screws. 

To record your message 1:
- Select the mode 3: let go of the button when mode 3 is reached.
- Press again on the button 1 to record your vocal message and maintain the pressure during the recording of your message (speak near your collar). Loosen the button when recording is done.

To listen to your message 1:
- Press mode 1: let go of the button when mode 1 is reached.
- After selecting mode 1, your collar will replay message 1.

Note: Do the same procedure for your message 2 and so forth.

HOW TO SET THE BARKING DETECTION SENSITIVITY

One very essential preliminary operation is setting the barking detection sensitivity. This procedure regulates the appropriate operation of the product. It helps in avoiding unnecessary detection of sound and ensures the retention of important sound data.

The sensitivity level, therefore, must be adequate, not too high neither not too low. The collar is set to medium position/sensitivity in the factory.

Below are the things to do to change the detection sensitivity according to your dog’s barking strength:

• Remove the 2 screws from the battery cover with the supplied screwdriver.
• Remove the battery cover.
• Carefully turn the setting screw according to the sensitivity you wish (See. Diagram 5)
• Warning: the adjustment system has a stop for the minimum sensitivity and a stop for the maximum sensitivity. Turn delicately and without forcing with the supplied screwdriver.
• Replace the battery cover taking care to insert first the little pin at the bottom of the battery cover (See diagram 3).
• Retighten the 2 screws.
•  

HOW TO CHECK/REPLACE THE BATTERY

When the battery is too weak for the operation of the product, sound beeps indicate it in 2 cases:
- When switching On the collar: a series of close sound beeps + number of beeps meant to indicate the operating mode are emitted
- When switching Off the collar: a series of close sound beeps are emitted

Prepare to replace the battery.

When the battery is too weak, the product works under safe mode, which means that it is out of use.

You need to replace the battery with a new battery of the same type (3 volts CR 2450 lithium battery). Do as follows:

• Remove the 2 screws from the battery cover using the supplied screwdriver.
• Remove the battery cover.
• Remove the dry battery by using the supplied magnet (magnetic key).
• Insert the new battery paying attention to the polarity indicated under the battery holder (See Diagram 2)
• A sound beep is emitted indicating that the battery was properly inserted.
• If you do not hear any sound beep after inserting the battery, immediately remove it from the battery holder by using your magnet. Check the polarity before inserting the battery once again. If you still do not hear any sound beep, check the operation by switching the collar On and Off.
• Replace the battery cover taking care to insert first the little pin at the bottom of the battery cover (See diagram 3).
• Retighten moderately the 2 screws.
   

CHANGING THE SENSOR

Two different length sensors are included in the package. The size should be long enough to have proper contact with the dog’s skin, enabling the device to operate correctly.

If you have a long-haired dog and the short sensor fitted to the collar in the factory is inadequate, remove the short sensor and replace it with the long one supplied with the kit. 

When changing the sensor, do not press on the threaded rod, it could damage the components underneath.

A moderate manual screwing is sufficient (do not use any key). If you screw the sensor too much, bark detection is likely to be inefficient.
 

FITTING THE COLLAR

The strap should be adjusted so that the sensor comes right into contact with the dog’s skin in order to ensure good barking detection.
- If the strap is too loose, the collar will not operate properly. Moreover, it might move around the dog’s neck and repeated rubbing of the sensor on the skin can cause irritation.
- If the strap is too tight, the dog will have difficulties in breathing.

Regularly check your dog’s neck as repeated rubbing of the sensor on the dog’s skin may cause irritation. If this happens, remove the collar until all signs of skin irritation have disappeared.

Do not leave the collar more than 8 hours a day around your dog’s neck and take the time to check that there are no signs of irritation when your dog is not wearing it.
 

CHECKING THE DEVICE OPERATES CORRECTLY

• Switch on the collar.
• Slowly rub the sensor on a slightly rough surface (change the detection sensitivity if necessary).
• The collar will emit vibrations and/or beeps and/or restores your vocal messages (according to the chosen configuration).

IMPORTANT: After being activated 3 times in quick succession, the collar will automatically go into safety mode for 15 seconds, before restarting itself normally.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• The collar should be used on dogs only over 6 months old.
• Before using the collar, it is important to have your dog checked by your vet to ensure it is fit to wear a bark limiter.
• The collar is weatherproof but not waterproof.
• To avoid unintentional triggering, the dog should not wear any metal, metallic collar, or any other kind of collar together with the bark limiter collar.
• If you do not use the collar for a long period of time, we advise you to remove the battery.
• Never leave a discharged battery in the collar.
• Keep the collar out of reach of children.
